Is E152 Halal?
E152, also known as Black 7984 or Coal Black, is a synthetic black azo dye (now banned in the EU). It is considered HALAL because it is a synthetic dye and not derived from any HARAM sources such as pork or alcohol. Note: not to be confused with E153 (Vegetable Carbon).
